Avtec, Airbus DS (formerly Cassidian Communications), Eventide, Exacom, Tait Communications, and Zetron recently joined together to host a special event to focus on the importance and the benefits of open standards.
Eight different speakers, including two Public Safety communication managers, shared insights and experience about open standard solutions. Although the event was for consultants, the content was so good that we decided to share it with you here.

Kevin Sumrell is Vice President of Utility and Public Safety sales for Avtec, Inc. Kevin Sumrell brings nearly 25 years of engineering, product, and management experience to the Avtec organization in 2008. Kevin is now responsible for continued development of Avtec's presence in the Utility and Public Safety markets.
Steven Begeda is the Director of System Sales for Zetron, Inc. He began his career as a telecommunications systems engineer focusing on command center technologies. He brings 16 years of global experience to his role of developing systems in partnership with global customers across public safety, transportation, public utilities, and federal/military markets.
Mat Schwartz is Vice President of Engineering for the Communications Division of Eventide. Mat has been with Eventide since 2002 and previously served as chief architect of the Atlas product family. In his role as VP of Engineering, Mat is responsible for product development, test, quality assurance, and technical documentation.
